Remedy Renegotiation for PCBs and Metals

Gradient assisted a PRP group in negotiating a ROD amendment for an alternative remedy at a Superfund site. We evaluated treatment cost and effectiveness; including a site-specific bench scale treatability study of innovative soil remediation technologies for PCBs. We successfully advocated the use of a soil column leaching experiment (instead of a TCLP test) to evaluate site-specific leachability of PCBs; lead; and arsenic; and also developed a statistical methodology to demonstrate arsenic and lead in site groundwater were consistent with local background concentrations. Gradient's efforts were instrumental in reaching a renegotiated reme
