Review of a Comprehensive Hazard Ranking System for Chemicals and Products
Gradient conducted a scientific peer review of a comprehensive hazard evaluation system developed by an energy services company for scoring and ranking its products. We reviewed the underlying components of the hazard evaluation system, compared it with other existing chemical hazard evaluation and product scoring/ranking systems, and conducted a sensitivity analysis of the underlying components of the ranking "variables" to evaluate the system's robustness. We provided technical recommendations and suggestions for further optimizing the transparency of the approach.
