Risk Assessment Uncertainty Analysis
The National Research Council convened a committee entitled "Improving Risk Analysis Approaches Used By the U.S. EPA" to reexamine the agency's methodology and guidance. Gradient provided input on the subject of "Hypothesis-Based Weight of Evidence and its Bearing on Uncertainty Analysis in Risk Assessment;" in which concerns about current hazard identification procedures were aired. An alternative endpoint-by-endpoint approach was proposed that takes greater account of concordances (and lack of concordances) across test-animal sexes and species and between animal and human studies.
