Arsine Gas Storage Risks

At a university's request; Gradient reviewed accidental release models of arsine gas from gas cylinders that would be used and stored at a future laboratory in a building under construction. We assessed the appropriateness of the modeling and methodology used for the estimation of ambient air arsine gas impacts on the surrounding community and identified health-protective short-term exposure guidelines for comparison with modeled estimates. We presented our assessment to community representatives and the Public Health Department at a series of meetings; and addressed public concerns about the gas storage plans. Our conclusions were used as part of the approval process for the facili
