Historical Air Emissions at a Lead Smelter
In a series of ongoing toxic tort cases; Gradient provided opinions on the standards of care used by a lead smelter to control lead emissions to air from 1970 to the present. We researched and communicated evolving plant efforts to manage point and fugitive emissions. We also reviewed the development of air regulations; air measurement technology; air modeling capabilities; and control technologies. Our work provided a contextual perspective on the evolution of air quality management using the client's smelter as a significant example of many aspects; such as air modeling capabilities and control of fugitive emissio
