Proposition 65 Evaluation of Coal Tar Shampoos

As part of a lawsuit regarding labeling requirements under California's Proposition 65; Gradient conducted analyses to estimate human skin cancer risks associated with dermal exposure to shampoos containing coal tar. Our evaluation included PAH dermal toxicity testing and dose-response analysis of results observed in a mouse skin-painting bioassay. Gradient also developed methods to extrapolate the observed results from mice to humans. We compared the extrapolated results with data from human epidemiological studies; and critiqued an alternative risk analys
