Development of Risk-Based Cleanup Goals
In support of facility closure; Gradient designed a risk-based remedial strategy at a former pesticide formulation facility. We developed a 3-D groundwater and solute transport model to predict VOC concentrations at off-site wells and assessed human-health risks from exposure to soils and groundwater. Based on the modeling and risk assessment results; we developed site-specific risk-based cleanup goals for both soil and groundwater which were approved by the Brazilian regulatory agency.
